Paris Hilton could be facing jail time as prosecutors are seeking to revoke her probation after she knowingly drove on a suspended license.

Paris was arrested last September for driving under the influence. Testing showed that she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.08, although Hilton claimed that she had only had one margarita before getting behind the wheel of her car. She claimed the blood-alcohol content was so high because she had not eaten anything at all that day. She has since starred in public service announcements where she says “One drink is all it takes.”

In January Paris pleaded no contest to a lesser charge than her original Driving Under the Influence (DUI): alcohol-related reckless driving. Hilton paid a fine of $1,500 and was placed on 36 months probation. Her license, however, had already been placed under suspension in November due to the original DUI arrest.

In February, just 5 weeks after her sentencing, Paris was stopped after driving without her headlights on. The Bentley she drove was immediately impounded and upon review it was found that Hilton’s license had been suspended and that she was knowledgeable of the suspension.

Paris Hilton’s public relations representative, Elliot Mintz, has made public statements that Hilton was not knowledgeable of the suspension. He said in a statement that when Hilton first called him after the incident, she asked him if her license was suspended, and that he was not aware of it at the time. Hilton’s only statement has been that she forgot to turn on her headlights on, despite the fact it was 10:30 at night.

Prosecutors disagree and are hoping to use the incident to revoke her probation. They are confident that the charge will hold and claim to have sufficient evidence showing she had knowledge of the suspension. A hearing has been set for April 17, 2007. According to celebrity news site TMZ.com such a revocation could land Paris behind bars for up to 90 days. Other possibilities include a new fine, on top of the original $1,500 fine she was sentenced with in January.

Paris has been slammed for purchasing the unusual cat because the specialist breed has numerous health problems.

The cats are said not to be able to function like normal sized felines, and cannot jump properly because their bow legs are too short. They can also break the bones in their limbs when landing because their legs aren’t long enough to absorb the shock.

Hollywood gossip writer Janet Charlton wrote on her website: “She’s way off base with her mini-cat. She’s got a cat that was bred to be a tiny dwarf and like most dwarves it has short bowed legs. Breeding animals to be dwarfs or midgets is unethical and they usually have numerous health problems because of it. They’re cute, but not healthy or able to function like a regular cat.”
