Paris Hilton issues another official statement

After going back to prison, Paris issues another official statement. Hmmm, the circus never ends, does it!

“Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.

As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.”

1 opinion for Paris Hilton issues another official statement

Are you sure Paris Hilton actually said those words! Frankly, they sound far too switched on, sensible and mature for her.

That is not meant to be a nasty comment, just honest. My perception of her has always been of an air headed space cadet, whose main focus in life is wasting vast sums of money by clothes & accessory shopping and partying, with no real concept of the outside world.

I certainly do NOT hate her (hate is such a negative and evil emotion – the less there is in the world, the better) Apart from my air-head perception, I have no actual feelings about Paris Hilton.

I don’t think it’s fair that she should be “let off” because of who she is. Being under house arrest in the Hilton mansion, is hardly a suitable punishment, sounds more like a luxury holiday.

I also find it hard to believe that she is “on the verge of a nervous breakdown” after only a few days. If she was mixing with other inmates, I could certainly see an issue, but being isolated in a private cell would surely be bearable.

Having said that, I actually feel a lot of empathy for her and can understand how scared she is.

However, this experience could actually be the making of her. It will give her the opportunity to take responsibility for her actions, learn from her mistakes, get a good dose of reality and gain some inner strength.

If she really did say those words, I am very impressed with her.
