Uh oh, it seems that grandpa Barron Hilton is throwing himself into the “upset at John McCain” camp!!

The Hilton family had donated a great sum of money to the presidential candidate before he promoted the media-image of Paris Hilton in an ad campaign against Barack Obama. Oops! Now the ad has backfired. I’m sure the Democrats are thrilled.

Barron Hilton, younger brother of Paris, was spotted waiting for his luggage at LAX. We’re surprised that any member of the Hilton family would fly commercial (you can bet Paris wouldn’t ever do such a thing).

Paris Hilton’s 18-year-old brother, Barron, was charged Thursday with four misdemeanor counts stemming from his Feb. 12 arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.

Barron was pulled over in February after a witness reported seeing a black Mercedes-Benz weaving on Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. He was allegedly carrying a fake driver’s license and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.14% — .08 is the rate at which a driver is legally intoxicated in California.

Barron was freed on $20,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned April 14 at the Malibu courthouse.

Barron Hilton had to hang out in jail most of the day yesterday before friends posted $20,000 bail at around 5:45 p.m.

A trio of friends put up the amount through a bail bondsman after Paris and her family appeared content to let him spend the night in jail!

Barron exited the station through a rear door, jacket over his head, and hopped into a silver SUV with two guys and a woman inside.

Sources close to Paris Hilton confirm that Barron phoned her earlier Tuesday asking for help, but, at the urging of her parents, she declined to post bail for him.

“It broke her heart, but she did what her parents thought was best,” the insider tells E! Online.

Barron has to appear April 14th at the Malibu courthouse.

Paris Hilton’s little bro was arrested yesterday morning for a DUI. Nothing like trying to keep up with big sister!!

Barron Hilton, 18, was arrested in Malibu slightly after 8:00 this morning and charged under suspicion of driving under the influence. Wow–talk about getting an early jump on the day!

Barron was driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in a black Mercedes when he was pulled over. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Hilton’s charge is a misdemeanor, and bail has been set at $5,000. (Which he’ll probably be able to pull out of his Mercedes’ seat cushions.)

Paris told PageSix.com, “I am sad for my little brother. I hear he is doing OK. I am there for him and will be speaking to him in an hour or so, hopefully, to lend my support.”

Paris Hilton’s younger brother, Barron, is only 16 but is already getting into trouble!

Sources tell Page Six that Barron is dating Skye Peters, the daughter of “Superman Returns” producer Jon Peters and his ex, Christine Peters. On Friday, Barron and Skye holed up in room 261 at the Bel Air Hotel and “something happened,” said a friend of Jon’s, as “police were called.”

A rep for Jon reached the producer at his Santa Barbara ranch and told Page Six: “Jon has responded that he will be looking into the purported relationship, and why Christine is allowing their youngest daughter to spend nights out.” Christine’s assistant said, “Christine and Kathy Hilton have been friends for years so of course Skye and Barron are friends. They were all at the Bel Air several weeks ago for a luncheon, but the rest sounds crazy. Police were not called.”
