Paris Hilton and Benji Madden chatted on the gold carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. They say they are more excited to see Cold Play over the Pussycat Dolls and Paris briefly talks about her reality show.

I Want To Be Paris’ New Best Friend is set to air in September, 2008 - at least according to Variety!

And banking on the proposed success of the show, 50 Cent is starting his own reality show. 50 Cent’s show will center on 16 contestants as they “live together and compete in challenges that relate to street savvy and business smarts. Show - kind of a hip-hop ‘Apprentice’ - will end each week with 50 Cent narrowing his search.”

Paris Hilton did some filming for new reality show at the In Touch Weekly party last week.

E!Online has the scoop saying that Paris and Benji were followed by cameras as they entered hand-in-hand. No retakes or director’s notes.

Inside, Paris chatted up her potential friends, which have already been narrowed down to 15 contestants. Only two boys remain in the lot.

They also say that there were some “fake” moments of filming. “When cameras were rolling, P was all smiles, talking in her typical baby voice. But when she wasn’t being filmed, her speech was completely different.”

The contestants are staying in a a huge mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Paris is supposed to be living with them, but a source says she hasn’t slept there yet!

Paris Hilton says that she finds it hard to make new friends and she is wary of new people coming into her life. The reason? She thinks they only want to hang out with her because she’s famous.

So why the heck is she launching a reality TV show to find a friend then?!? Does she really think these people adore her and aren’t desperate for fame themselves?!? Oy!

But Paris insists that she has few close friends and is only close to people she has known since she was a child.

She says, “It is hard meeting new people. Most of my friends I’ve had my entire life, like obviously my sister (Nicky) and Nicole Richie have been with me forever.

“So when I meet new people, I’m always a little wary of the reason they may want to become my friend. I can usually just tell by when we’re out in public and there’s paparazzi around, I see, you know, who gets a little bit too excited or whatever. I can tell how those people are.”

I somehow doubt she’s really going to find a quality friend through Paris BFF!

Yikes! It seems that more than 85,000 people have applied to become Paris’s new BFF.

These wanna-be friends had to post their videos on the website for the MTV show Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, with 20 finalists to be chosen by an online vote.

Those finalists will then move into a house with Paris to learn “normal girl stuff” like fashion and shopping (as if she’s going to find girls who don’t know how to shop!)

Paris is currently scheming on what challenges to give the contestants.

She said she was looking for “someone who’s fun, someone who I can trust and someone to get along with that is not going to screw me over. Just someone to have a great time with”.
